After being a part of a trio with her sisters Trina and Towanda Braxton, Tamar Braxton went on to begin her solo career with a debut self-titled album in 2000 under Dreamworks Records. The album was a commercial failure, and Tamar was later dropped from the label. Like many younger siblings, Tamar turned to her big sister Toni for a bit of assistance.
